Interactive digital screens provide multimedia coverage of Obama inauguration

SMART Technologies will cover the ceremony for Chicago 's Bronzeville Ball using interactive whiteboards and digital signage.

January 19, 2009

CALGARY, Alberta — SMART Technologies Inc. has set up five of its interactive whiteboards to keep 300 attendees of Chicago's Bronzeville Ball in the loop during the inauguration. The company's five SMART Boards, which project a manipulable computer image onto a whiteboard or flat panel television, will each serve different functions at the ball.

One interactive whiteboard will stream live footage to the Neighborhood Ball in Washington, among others. Two other boards will serve as news feeds, supplying ABC's coverage of the inauguration and playing continuous loops of Obama's acceptance speech. The two final SMART Boards, which will be flat panel displays, will allow guests to sign their names or leave messages for the President-elect.
