Ingram Micro digital signage: Coming to your city

Ingram Micro brings its digital signage reseller training session to Chicago.

CHICAGO This past Wednesday marked the date for the December Digital Signage Roadshow from Ingram Micro, a $36 billion electronics distributor with a division specific to providing digital signage products to resellers. The small, hands-on event was hosted at the United Center in Chicago.

Since its creation in Dec. 2007, the Digital Signage Division has hosted roadshow events such as this one about every six weeks in various cities across the country.

"The goal of these is to get in a local market and bring in resellers," said Kevin Prewett, vice president of Ingram Micro's Digital Signage Division. "We try to bring together a full digital signage solution screens, media players, mounts, connectivity so we can teach customers about different levels of digital signage."

The 17 unique reselling companies were treated to presentations from digital signage vendors such as Samsung, LG, NEC, Minicom, Cables to Go, Avocent, Peerless and a success story on the BeSeen! liquor store network. Those companies were part of a small technology fair held after the event, also featuring groups like RidgeLogic Development, Panasonic, Adobe, ITS Enclosures, SIIG and others.
