Teaching is a challenging job, especially during a pandemic. During 2020 and 2021, teachers have had to adjust to remote learning, staggered schedules, masks, social distancing and quarantining. In order to celebrate teachers, Lamar Advertising Co., an OOH company, is offering free space on its digital billboards for teachers as part of Teacher Appreciation Week the week of May 3rd.

Lamar is asking users to nominate teachers on the website LamarLovesTeachers.com to feature on its displays in 86 markets across the U.S. from May 3 to 8.

"Teachers have always been vital to our children and our communities, but never more so than during this past year," Sean Reilly, CEO of Lamar Advertising Co., said in a press release. "Through the #LamarLovesTeachers campaign, we are privileged to use our national digital billboard network to honor, appreciate and praise the many deserving educators across our country who we hope will be excited to see their name and picture on a Lamar digital billboard in their community."

In order to get teachers listed on the displays, they will need to provide a variety of information, such as a name and photo of the teacher to feature on the displays.

"Users need to complete the information in the form on LamarLovesTeachers.com in order to get their teachers featured on a billboard (email, teacher's first and last name, teacher's school, your market, upload a photo)," said Allie McAlpin, communications director for Lamar. "The teachers' photos will loop throughout the week. Teachers will be featured on billboards located in their local geographic areas (based on the market that was selected in the submission form)."

Lamar has never done a Teacher Appreciation Week campaign before, but so far, the feedback has been positive, McAlpin said.

You can watch a video of the campaign in action below. If you have a teacher you would like to nominate, you can also do so at LamarLovesTeachers.com until May 6.
