BrightSign, a California-based digital signage firm, has announced a kinetic digital experience at the Pixoul Gaming VR and E-sports venue in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, according to a press release.

BrightSign powers content on a rotating 4-square-meter digital glass cube conceptualized by Paul Hamilton, general manager at Pixoul Gaming, along with his team. The physical cube was built by Dubai-based integrator DigiComm, is said to weigh approximately four tons and can support six people at a time.

The installation includes 38 BrightSign DX234 players pushing synchronized content on 123 LG screens (55-inch and 49-inch form factors) lining the entire exterior and interior surface area of the walk-in, rotating cube.

Exterior surface content is provided by DigiComm and created using BrightAuthor software with sci-fi themes. The interior surface plays a three-minute media experience created by Robocom VR, Pixoul's game design team, including information about using the Pixoul Metaverse, the facility's mixed-reality experience, and narrated by a robotic virtual avatar character.

"The synchronization works amazingly well, and using BrightSign saved Pixoul around 300,000 Dirhams ($81,000)," Abdul Bakhrani, CEO at DigiComm, said in the release. "We're very proud of this installation. As far as we know, nothing like it has ever been done before. A structure of this size and weight, rotating on a 6m platform with an error tolerance of 2mm, with all the transport of power involved and everything synchronized across so many screens – it's quite a feat of engineering."

"Abdul Bakhrani and his team have really smashed the bar with this stellar project, which is as impressive technically as it is visually," Ann Holland, VP of marketing at BrightSign, said in the release. "Their imagination is truly amazing, and each project they deliver harnesses the capabilities of our players to their most powerful potential. We are excited to see how DigiComm has stretched BrightSign players to their limits in this exceptional installation.
