There's no doubt that how we attend school or go to work has changed dramatically. Both remote work and distance education have been growing in popularity in recent years, and the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic accelerated that growth.
In the United States, for example, half (49%) of all districts around the country opened with remote learning in the fall of 2020, according to research conducted by the trade journal Education Week, with another 27% offering a combination of remote and face-to-face classes. For many, those instructional delivery methods will remain in place through Spring 2020 and quite possibly beyond.
The numbers are similar when it comes to the workplace. An October 2020 Gallup poll indicated that 58% of workers were doing their jobs remotely, at least part of the time. Statistics compiled by the trade group Society for Human Resource Management indicate that 82% of company leaders around the world say they'll permit remote work for their employees at least part of the time.
Despite the changes occurring in school and at the workplace, though, teachers still need to convey information to their students and workers still need to be able to collaborate. One tool helping enable that collaboration is the smart whiteboard.
