When JB Clinic — a trusted neighborhood practice in Keelung's Qidu District — decided to upgrade its waiting room, the goal wasn't to follow a trend. It was to solve a real problem: patients couldn't track their queue position, announcements were easy to miss, and people waiting outside had no visibility at all.
CAYIN Technology provided three SMP-2200 industrial-grade digital signage players as the core hardware backbone of the solution. Working alongside systems integrator Pao-An Technology and queue management specialist PilotTV Media, the project delivered a seamlessly integrated experience tailored to the clinic's actual workflows.
The result is a smart display system that automatically adjusts layouts based on which consultation rooms are active — splitting the shared screen when both rooms are open, or displaying a single full-screen queue when only one is in use. Staff can manually override configurations through an intuitive interface requiring no IT expertise. Low-latency wireless transmission keeps audio announcements and on-screen queue numbers in near-perfect sync. Health education videos, scrolling announcements, and live weather information fill the screen between queue updates — turning idle wait time into a channel for patient engagement. The system even extends to an exterior display window, reducing unnecessary trips to the front desk.
Since going live on January 31, 2026, JB Clinic has reported a calmer waiting environment, lower staff workload, and a stronger professional image — all while continuing to serve the community it has cared for for over four decades.
