UberDisplays, along technology consultants, Anthony James Partners (AJP), worked to deliver a comprehensive LED display solution at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP), home of the iconic Durham Bulls. The project modernizes the ballpark’s visual systems, enhances the fan experience, and increases the versatility of the venue for future events.
The centerpiece of the installation, the Blue Monster, is an impact-rated LED display engineered to withstand direct hits from baseballs traveling up to 80 mph. Measuring 1,774 square feet and comprised of more than 1.5 million pixels, this screen delivers stunning visuals while serving as a focal point for game information and entertainment.
Nicknamed the Mini Monster by the Durham Bulls, this display delivers the live Speed of Pitch readout and also supports live video, player stats, and sponsor messaging. A brand-new custom frame was built to integrate the screen directly into the left-field fence, giving fans seamless visibility.
Running 260 feet along the right-field fence line, this ribbon display rounds out visual coverage across the park. Its consistent sight-lines make it ideal for showcasing team branding and partner content to a wide section of fans.
Located behind home plate at the club level, this ribbon display keeps spectators connected with real-time game details, including score updates, pitch counts and batter information. This beautiful display means game updates are now visible, for the first time in park history, from the "Diamond View" terrace on top of the Blue Monster as well.
Built to withstand baseball impacts of up to 130 mph, these displays deliver excellent brightness and clarity, even in full sunlight. Their high-visibility placement ensures they’re a reliable source of both in-game information and supporting content.
Across the installation, UberDisplays deployed more than 4.2 million pixels across 4,742 square feet of LED displays. The upgrade significantly enhances DBAP’s game-day presentation, improves fan engagement, increases advertising opportunities and supports future flexibility for special events and community programming.
