Zytronic to showcase force-sensing tech

January 9, 2017

Zytronic, a touch sensor company, will showcase its force sensing technology for large touchscreens at Integrated Systems Europe in Amsterdam. The technology measures the surface area of a user's touch, which changes the measured capacitive signal level, according to a press release.

The force sensing technology is designed as a replacement for a piezo-electric or other lays on the touchscreen glass to measure the force of a touch. The company will showcase the technology with ATMs, kiosks, interactive video walls and video game terminals at the show.

"Force or pressure sensing is a whole new way of interacting with a touchscreen, and we are a pioneer in bringing it to financial, retail, gaming, industrial and other commercial touchscreen applications, giving developers a fantastic opportunity to innovate," Ian Crosby, sales and marketing director at Zytronic, said in the release. It is particularly powerful when used in combination with Zytronic multi touch technology, exceeding what is possible on all but the most advanced tablets and smartphones today.
