Touch sensor manufacturer Zytronic has invested $1.5 million to further its development of large touch sensors for digital signage, table surfaces and other applications, according to the press release.
The company increased the overall size of its ISO 5 cleanroom area by 25 percent at its Newcastle, England manufacturing site, thus increasing the total manufacturing floor area to 10,000 square feet. Zytronic also added five direct write electrode machines and an automated laminator to accommodate the construction of touch sensors up to 65 inches diagonal.
It has also added new offerings to its products, including installation brackets and bezels, according to the release.
"In its 2015 financial year, Zytronic grew by 13 percent. A key feature of this growth has been further market acceptance of our patented multitouch projected capacitive technology, which enables multi-user and multitouch sensing in ultra large-form-factor sizes up to 85 inches," said Mark Cambridge, CEO, Zytronic Group. "During the year, we made a number of investments in our property, plant and machinery to support this growth, increasing our output capacity, especially in large formats, where we saw demand for large touch sensors increase by 50 percent in volume terms over the prior year."
