Zytronic debuts Hybrid Touch technology

April 1, 2019

Zytronic recently debuted its Hybrid Touch technology, which will combine electromechanical buttons and dials within the active area of projected capacitive touchscreens. With this technology, end users can offer tactile feedback for critical controls on touchscreens, according to a press release.

Zytronic builds the sensors with machined apertures and places the dials and switches where the designer selects. It then delivers power and data lines to the mechanical controls in the touch interface. The microfine traces are moved to a flex tail at the edge of a screen to connect with an electromechanical controller, according to the release.

Customers can alter the button functions by changing the GUI design beneath it.
