Digital signage company Wow Media has added Randy's Donuts to Wow's 22 outdoor full-motion billboards in the city of Inglewood, a growing sports and entertainment hub in Los Angeles, according to a company press release.
The 32-foot round original donut, which has sat atop Randy's Donuts since 1952, attracts visitors to take selfies with the landmark. The donut is located near the Manchester Boulevard off-ramp of the San Diego Freeway, which leads to Los Angeles' Sofi Stadium.
Wow's first effort with Randy's Donuts is for the new Sony Studios blockbuster "Ghostbusters Afterlife," based on the 1984 franchise. The film, directed by Jason Reitman and starring Paul Rudd, opened in theaters Nov. 19.
"Everyone knows Randy's Donuts, even if you're not from Los Angeles," Scott Krantz, WOW Media founder and CEO, said in the release. "We are thrilled to have such a Los Angeles iconic landmark available for our clients' advertising needs. We have our clients covered from digital to donuts."
The famous donut has been featured in films, TV shows and music videos, including "Mars Attacks!," "Arrested Development," "Entourage," "Get Shorty," "Californication" and Randy Newman's "I Love L.A.," among others.
Wow has run campaigns for brands and studios such as Netflix, Amazon, Samsung, AT&T, Omega, Smirnoff and Barclays.
