Volta, an electric charging and advertising firm, has open-sourced their environmental impact calculator, according to an email statement.
The move aims to empower advertisers to calculate the CO2 emissions they can avoid if they leverage DOOH on Volta's nationwide outdoor advertising network.
Digital Signage Today contacted Volta for insights on the strategy and received a statement from Volta Chief Commercial Officer Brandt Hastings.
"Strong ROAS, sales lift and brand recall are no longer enough to deem a campaign successful," Hastings said. "Brands and agencies are increasingly demanding that advertising drive both positive business results and environmental impact. Doing this successfully begins with effective media planning, which is why Volta released our campaign emissions calculator. It's the first step in allowing advertisers to forecast the emissions they can avoid by running a campaign on the Volta Media Network and make smarter buying decisions accordingly."
