ViewSonic donates Raspberry Pi devices to Alliance for Boys and Girls Clubs

August 12, 2020

ViewSonic Corp., a display solutions provider, has donated 300 single-board Raspberry Pi Thin Client computers to the Los Angeles County Alliance for Boys and Girls Club. The company made this donation under the Empowering Future Generations intiative, which is designed to support schools and organizations with technology resources for STEM, robotics workshops, esports clubs and other programs, according to a press release.

"We are very proud of ViewSonic's position as a global leader providing technology solutions that support collaboration, communication and creativity," Jeff Volpe, president of ViewSonic Americas, said in the release. "With continued distance learning while Los Angeles County schools remain closed, we felt this was the perfect technology to allow students to build, create, and collaborate while sheltering in place. This technology allows students hands-on learning and a creative outlet as they virtually work on STEM and robotic projects with their peers."
