Video wall tech firm honored by the Queen of England

April 20, 2011

U.K.-based Datapath has won a Queen's Award for Innovation for its continuous development of technology incorporated in large video wall controllers, the company announced today.

"The Queen's Awards, which have been announced today to coincide with Her Majesty's birthday, are regarded as the UK's most prestigious accolades for business-related achievement," according to the Derby Telegraph.

Datapath's video wall technology enables coordination of many screens and acceptance of inputs from a variety of sources and is based on custom-designed graphics card solutions and high-bandwidth backplanes. Through innovation, the company has continually replaced products made obsolete by developments in the computer industry and thus sustained high performance in international markets, according to the announcement.

Datapath makes hardware components, plug-in cards and device-driver software, which are supplied to original equipment manufacturers worldwide. They are key elements in the building of equipment controlling, for example, transport, utilities, process industries, financial trading and security systems.

"We are all very proud to receive this award, which not only reflects on our engineering team's wealth of experience and dedication, but also on the partnership with our customers who have continuously allowed us to make our product easier to use, and better adapted for many different market segments," Datapath CEO Bjorn Krylander said in the announcement.
