September 19, 2010
The recently-launched digital media brand Al Barq Digital, owned and operated by Abu Dhabi Media Company subsidiary Abu Dhabi Media Digital Out Of Home, today announced that it has signed a five-year digital media rights agreement with the Dubai Festival City resort mall in the United Arab Emirates.
Under the terms of the agreement, Al Barq Digital will deploy a digital screen network in Dubai Festival City made up of 32 Digital Media Units (DMUs) equipped with dual 65-inch high-definition LCD digital display screens used for mall advertising, as well as 22-inch interactive LCD touch screens that will help shoppers locate and navigate their way to stores and services in the mall.
Al Barq Digital screens will carry advertising for Dubai Festival City's retail partners' in-store promotions and services, which amount to 600 stores and retail sites, across 2.8 million square feet; as well as other advertisers aiming to target the two million monthly mall visitors.
Following its launch in July, Al Barq says it is set to create a fast-expanding network of screens and unique interactive Digital Media Units in shopping malls, airports and exhibition centers in the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East, with expectations of more than 300 screens to be turned on by the first quarter of 2011.
