Tripp Lite offering power-distribution-unit for always-on Internet access

April 10, 2019

Tripp Lite has launched a mini power-distribution unit called the PDU15NETLX. The device comes with an Auto-Probe feature that can detect abnormal behavior in networks and remotely reboot modems, routers or media servers across a network, according to a press release.

Tripp Lite built the PDU with an embedded HTML5-based LX Platform for real-time remote monitoring and alerts for voltage and load levels. The device can also connect with environmental sensors to monitor temperature, humidity and dry contact devices. Other features include:

  • TAA compliance.
  • Two NEMA 5-15R outlets, which support remote individual on/off control.
  • Secure access via web browser, SNMP or CLI.
  • Supports SSH, SSL, IPv6 and SNMPv3.

"Whether it's installed in a kiosk, behind a display, or next to a modem and router, our mini PDU provides compact, secure and reliable outlet switching that can reduce or eliminate downtime through automation," said David Slotten, vice president of product marketing, Tripp Lite, in the release. "The PDU quickly pays for itself by helping deliver always-on Internet access without service calls or truck rolls, but it's more than just a remote power switch — it allows IT managers to integrate multiple units and sites with their management platform of choice, just as they can with our full-size switched PDUs."
