Trident unveils small-footprint, fanless PC

SURREY — A new boxed fanless PC has been introduced by Trident, which provides an easy mounting solution by including both VESA and DIN Rack mounting options.

Trident offers the Avalue EPC-3711 with either solid-state storage or a SATA 2.5-inch hard disk drive. It includes 2 COM ports, 3 USB 2.0 ports, RGB (15 DSUB), Dual Gigabit LAN, 6-channel audio, 1 Mini PCI, PS2 KB, mouse, and Compact Flash. The EPC-3711 is powered by a 1GHz VIA Eden V4 CPU with VIA CN700 chipset supporting up to 1GB of DDR2 memory, and can run from a single 5V rail.

The embedded board features a Hardware Status Monitor to monitor both system and CPU temperature, and can automatically throttle the CPU if any overheating is detected. The overall size of the PC is 7 x 4.4 x 2 inches, and weighs around 2.6 lbs.
