Trendnet expands PoE line with 90W support

Trendnet has expanded its line of power-over-Ethernet products with its 90-watt supported Gigabit 4PPoE switches and a 4PPoE injector. Both devices will support the 802.3bt standard, according to a press release.

The switches come with 4PPoE ports and PoE+ ports. The 4PPoE ports support up to 90-Watts of power per port and the PoE+ supports up to 30 Watts of power. The injector can convert a non-PoE port to a 90W 4PPoE port, according to the release.

"With 90W 4PPoE, the industry should expect to see growth in PoE-integrated installations and applications, such as digital signage projects, LED displays, video intercom systems, and IR lighting designs," Evan Davis, senior manager of solutions engineering at Trendnet, said in the release. "Additionally, the IEEE 802.3bt standard now allows for PoE support on 10GBASE-T connections, greatly expanding available bandwidth and ultimately improving overall network performance."
