TRED launches low-powered digital signage

New Mexico Business Weekly: TRED Displays Corp. has developed low-powered digital signage as an alternative to LCD and LED technology. The company received $850,000 from Flywheel Ventures and from the Japanese company Sojitz Corp. to develop its system, which relies on magnetized, plastic fibers mounted on displays. Circuit boards at the back of signs allow display owners to emit tiny electric impulses that magnetically rearrange the fibers into desired words and designs.
