Transparent digital signage electrifies Casio G-Shock (Video)

May 29, 2012

Crystal Display Systems recently posted a video of transparent digital signage deployed in the Casio store in London's Covent Garden district.

The Samsung 22-inch transparent display is used in portrait mode in the Casio G-Shock advertising unit, which incorporates a motion sensor which allows the video content to only initiate once the customer approaches the unit, according to an email from CDS.

The pulsing Casio eye pulses until a shopper moves closer to the watch, and the content begins to deliver its message to the consumer.

CDS said this kind of display could be used in many retail applications, as well as in "eye catchers" at exhibition stands for promotional purposes — or in reception areas, department stores, interior design firms, hotels, banks, jewellers, sign companies, kiosks and casinos.
