TouchMate recently announced the newest countertop kiosk to join its current line of kiosks, digital signage and POS solutions — the Ascot. With a compact design that features a large 22-inch touchscreen display, it is designed to attract users to its "uniquely styled and mounted monitor," the company said.
Built to provide visuals and responsiveness that can be tailored to create solutions for the entertainment, health care, and retail markets, this compact kiosk is designed to make use of the newest technologies on the market for self-service, digital signage and wayfinding applications, the company said.
"Just like the name suggests, the Ascot provides your business with the perfect finishing touch for any situation," the company said in explaining the product's name. The kiosk is designed to robust enough to support EMV technologies in attended or unattended environments, digital signage and advertising, self-service, wayfinding and more applications.
TouchMate also said it offers the ability to tailor the internal components of the Ascot to make it truly individualized, from internally fitted 6.5-inch print rolls to custom printers or swipe versus insert credit card readers to 1D/2D barcode readers that are capable of reading codes from cellphones.
The Ascot is intended to provide an alternative to the high-powered, fully-functional kiosks that take up large amounts of floor, wall or counter space. "The Ascot fills a growing need for a smaller but high-function kiosk," TouchMate CTO David Ellsworth said in the announcement. "With the business evolution of such things as the elimination of staffed POS locations, an alternative is needed to meet customer self-service demand."
