Moviestar, a communications networked owned by Telefonica in South America, is rolling out new touch sensors to craft more exciting and interactive experiences at stores and kiosks. Zytronic will be developing the touch sensors and retail specialist PX Group will be designing the store layout and kiosks, according to the press release.

PX Group designed the concept of a touch video wall for Moviestar retailers with three 46-to-50 inch touch screens that enabled customers to browse while waiting. The company also designed a kiosk with a 40-inch screen to contain a store catalogue, and a series of kiosks to deploy at Moviestar mall locations.

The touch sensor itself is polyester touch foil designed to be flexible and detect over "40 simultaneous touch points," according to the release. The foil is designed to require one calibration and little maintenance.

"Movistar wanted to create an exciting digital experience for its customers in locations that see very intensive use. This project makes very exceptional demands on the touch screens," said Anneliese Schemke, sales and innovation manager at PX Group. "We chose Zytronic ZYFILM because of its accuracy and speed of response as well as its durability."
