Touch International recently unveiled a 12.1-inch WXGA wide-temperature, "super-bright" LCD manufactured at the company's engineering and design facility in Austin, Texas, according to an announcement.
The kiosk-compatible LCD screen features LED back lights designed to produce up to 1,200 nits of "sunlight readable" brightness and have a life-expectancy of more than 50,000 hours, the company said. The screen's brightness exceeded 1,000 nits with the addition of a projected capacitive touchscreen and optically bonded glass cover during testing. The 16:10 aspect LCD monitor features 1280-by-800 WXGA HD resolution, a 160-degree viewing angle and a 1,000-to-1 contrast ratio, and weighs 455 grams (1 pound).
The temperature rating of the display ranges from -10° C to 80° C (14° F to 176° F). The display was also tested for mechanical and thermal shock, vibration and more, the company said.
