Touch International intros sunlight-readable touchscreen monitors

October 14, 2020

Touch International has introduced 10.1- and 21.5-inch models of its OFX series of open-frame PCAP touch monitors. The company built the displays to be readable in high sunlight, according to a press release.

The 10.1-inch model has an operating temperature of -4 to 158-degrees Fahrenheit and features 1,000 nits brightness, 1280-by-800 resolution and 800:1 contrast ratio. The 21.5-inch model has an operating range of 32-to-122-degrees Fahrenheit and features 1,500 nits brightness, 1920-by-1080 resolution and a 1,000:1 contrast ratio.

"TI's OFX-SR touch monitors are essentially a cheat code for companies looking to develop touch-enabled products that require daylight visibility," Shaun Detmer, director of marketing, Touch International, said in the release. "Companies are freed from worrying about the critical components to focus on the fun stuff like branding, aesthetics, or exploring new performance enhancement options. We make it easy to release better products at less cost, quickly."

Both models feature wide viewing angles and support 16.7 million colors.
