THine Electronics has launched its LSI chipset, which can transmit 8K data with 687 billion color depth through 1-meter FFC. The device supports up to 16GB per second for displays, according to a press release.
The company said that the chipset will be useful for 4K/8K displays, interactive displays, digital signage, gaming monitors and virtual reality devices. The chipset is designed to convert data from the V-by-One U.S. standard for 4K internal interfaces. In particular, it can convert data from, 8-lane V-by-One HS and 2-lane V-by-One US, covering one 4K60Hz display or four 1080p displays, the release said.
"We are delighted to introduce actual IC products with our leading-edge technology that will support unprecedented design capability and scalability," Yasuhiro Takada, president and CEO of THine, said in the release. "We look forward to receiving customers' feedback."
