The Sphere, an entertainment and digital out-of-home advertising venue in Las Vegas, marked the Fourth of July holiday with a celebration that included drones, digital art, and the launch of new ways to experience the venue, according to a press release.
During the celebration, a fleet of more than 500 drones maneuvered to emulate fireworks, stars, and more. The venue also launched XO Audio, whereby music is synchronized to the digital display of the Sphere's outer surface (dubbed "the Exosphere"), along with XO Stream, a 24/7 livestream of the venue.
The venue also commemorated the event with a Sphere XO Student Design Challenge, in which Las Vegas students created art themed around the holiday for a chance to be displayed on the Exosphere. Eight winners were chosen before the launch of the celebration, with winners each receiving a $10,000 scholarship for their education or for their school along with having their work displayed through the summer on the Exosphere.
