San Antonio's Trinity University has deployed an interactive experience for prospective students from MultiTouch Ltd., a global provider of interactive display systems, the company announced today.
The installation in Trinity University’s Admissions Office Welcome Center features a MultiTaction 55-inch table display to provide an easily accessible, interactive platform for prospective students to explore their academic interests and options duringon-campus tours of the university, the announcement said.
The interactive table at Trinity University features MultiTouch’s Enriched Reality technology, which uses 2D barcodes to recognize objects placed on the display. MultiTouch and creative design and branding firm PUSH Offices implemented the software for the installation, creating a series of 25 personality cards that interact with the MultiTaction display. The cards were uniquely designed and made to match specific personality types with potential fields of study at Trinity University.
When the user places a personality card on the table, the application links it to display-related topics, areas of study, on-campus information and multimedia specific to the card. The table supports multiple cards to show even more information such as interests, activities and academic opportunities at Trinity University.
Students choose cards based on the quotes printed on them. Each card has a quote from famous trailblazers in their field, such as this one from Steve Jobs: “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” When this card is placed on the screen, it displays academic fields such as art and art history, engineering and science, as well as Trinity University faculty members in those fields of study. Interests like the Rotaract Club and art collective are also shown to prospective students.
“The Trinity University installation provided another exciting opportunity to collaborate with MultiTouch," Eric Boisvert, managing partner of PUSH Offices, said in the announcement. "The MultiTaction Enriched Reality enabled us to create software to seamlessly integrate with the display to inspire visitors and create awareness about all Trinity University has to offer to students.”
