T-Mobile adds interactive signage to all retail locations

Freedom LP System installed in more than 1,500 company stores.

August 6, 2007

HILLSBORO, Oregon — MTI, provider of turnkey merchandising solutions, announced that its Freedom LP line of merchandising displays has been selected by T-Mobile for installation throughout the mobile phone provider's nationwide retail network of more than 1,500 locations.

Affording consumers a unique hands-on shopping experience, Freedom LP is a leading powered merchandising system designed specifically for cell phones, PDAs and other low-profile, handheld devices that allows customers to sample, first-hand, the many features each phone or PDA has to offer, while also providing retailers with redundant security systems to prevent theft.

"T-Mobile's decision to implement Freedom LP throughout all their stores not only helps them satisfy their immediate desire to better serve their customers," said Jason Goldberg, MTI's vice president of marketing, "but it also provides them with a platform to build on, as the system can be expanded to include interactive displays merchandising options later on."

Following a five-month pilot program, T-Mobile executives determined the Freedom LP system to be instrumental in assisting customers searching for the phone that best fit their needs.

Freedom LP is MTI's low-profile alternative to the company's Freedom Universal displays. Specifically designed for small form factor products, and available in both 4 and 8-product position configurations, Freedom LP provides full power to each product location through a series of SKU-specific power cords that automatically deliver the correct amount of power to each product on the display. Each product is tethered to its anchor pad via a retractable cable that not only delivers mechanical security, but also provides both audible and visual electronic protections systems, as well. If the cable is broken, it triggers both a pulsating audible alarm and multiple flashing red LED lights, alerting store personnel of the breach.
