SVSi unveils stand-alone transmitter to distribute digital content over Ethernet LAN

September 16, 2008

MADISON, Ala. — Southern Vision System Inc. has announced the availability of a new stand-alone, audio-visual transmitter which encodes digital content for distribution over an Ethernet LAN. The SVSi voLANte VMT 105 stand-alone digital AV transmitter, when deployed with voLANte VRR 104 AV receivers at displays, provides additional flexibility in deploying an out-of-home digital signage network.

With its small footprint, the voLANte VMT 105 can be placed in confined spaces and offers the same high-quality video as the voLANte VTC 103 AV transmitter card. Designed to be stacked together, voLANte VMT 105 stand-alone transmitters offer a compact solution for streaming up to six video channels over CAT5 cable. The voLANte VMT 105 is immediately available through distribution with an MSRP of U.S. $1,395.00.
"The stand-alone voLANte transmitter is ideal for customers that don't want or don't need a PC for the content they're sending out to the displays," says Bob Sharp, director of sales and marketing for SVSi. "Take a sports bar, for example, where the owners want to show the big game via satellite, but then want to show location-specific content like menu specials or other promotions at predetermined intervals. The voLANte VMT 105 is the ideal solution. In addition to synchronized audio and video you get a streamlined solution that doesn't require any AV tweaking or tuning. Just plug-and-play."
This latest addition to the SVSi voLANte digital video LAN product line further underscores the simplicity of setting up a digital signage network with voLANte components. Simply connect a DVI-D source (such as a media player) or HDMI source (such as a satellite receiver or camera) to the voLANte VMT 105 then connect CAT5 cable out to one or more voLANte remote receivers to deploy your content.
The voLANte Digital Video LAN voLANte, an acronym for "Video Over LAN Technology," offers "last mile" digital content distribution and management over a local area network. The SVSi voLANte offers simple integration with existing network hardware, delivers synchronized digital video and audio to an unlimited number of HD displays over unlimited distances, and is easily expandable. Multiple streams of high-resolution, high-definition digital content can be narrowcast point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, or daisy-chained for professional audio/visual applications. Video and audio is managed through voLANte transmitters and receivers that also function as network switches.
