STRATACACHE offers Omnicast as SaaS

STRATACACHE, a provider of scalable, high-performance digital signage, content distribution and enterprise video acceleration technologies, recently announced that its content distribution solution, OmniCast, is available as a comprehensive Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering.

In a SaaS business model, customers access a secure hosted OmniCast server cluster via a "per site, per month" contract, with STRATACACHE technical support services included. As a SaaS solution, end users do not need to manage a server, content distribution process or ongoing reporting.

This content delivery platform option includes OmniCast's advanced bandwidth management capability, helping organizations deliver large amounts of rich media and video without forcing Wide Area Network upgrades.

The OmniCast SaaS model is hosted out of STRATACACHE's North American data center and Tier 1 data centers around the globe. STRATACACHE is offering a special competitive trade-up program for current users of legacy content distribution solutions to support the launch of its new OmniCast SaaS offering.

"Offering OmniCast as a SaaS solution has been a natural progression in the development of our solutions, providing significant benefits and efficiencies without the complexity ordinarily associated with content distribution," STRATACACHE CEO Chris Riegel said in the announcement. "As the amount of media distributed to remote locations continues to dramatically grow, OmniCast SaaS provides a very cost-effective alternative to traditional Internet CDNs."
