Steljes to distribute MediaTile digital signage products in the U.K.

AV Interactive reports this morningthat English AV distributor Steljes has "entered the digital signage market" by addingMediaTileproducts to the company's line card. MediaTile's products, including its Digital Sign-in-a-Box, will be positioned by Steljes toward the education sector.

MediaTile provides several technologies that enable companies to implement digital signage, such as the Digital Sign-in-a-Box all in one solution, and the MediaCast digital signage software platform. MediaTile has positioned itself as a cellular digital signage provider, meaning content is distributed over 3G broadband networks to receivers built into the screens.

"We have been monitoring the digital signage market for some time. Many of the systems we looked at were designed and developed for the retail sector and had limited potential for updating on a screen to screen basis," Graham Wylie, group product marketing director, told AV Interactive. "In addition we wanted a solution that could be deployed in large scale installations such as those associated with Building Schools for the Future program and Further Education and Higher Education establishments. MediaTile offers something different – scalable out of the box solutions that are easy to implement and maintain and can be deployed virtually anywhere using 3G connectivity."
