StarTech.com, a manufacturer of hard-to-find connectivity and technology parts, has announced the availability of its new line of Mini DisplayPort adapters, which allow users to overcome compatibility issues between laptop and desktop computers equipped with a Mini DisplayPort output port and monitors/displays that only support older video connections such as DVI, HDMI and VGA.
"The DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort interfaces are quickly becoming the digital standard for connecting monitors or displays to PCs and Mac computers," said John Mardinly, product manager for StarTech.com. "Many new laptops and desktops that have been released into the market include the Mini DisplayPort output interface, which may be the only video port provided. With our adapters, you can purchase a new notebook or desktop and save money by keeping your existing VGA, HDMI or DVI without sacrificing the high resolution capability that the video source provides".
StarTech.com's new Mini DisplayPort Adapter product line includes the following, and will be priced as follows:
The Mini DisplayPort Adapters also include several added features:
The Mini DisplayPort is a miniaturized version of the DisplayPort interface, which is designed specifically to deliver high-definition video and audio content through a single cable. It (Mini DisplayPort) is currently used by Apple in several versions of their MacBook notebooks and desktop computers and has also recently become available through other mainstream laptop brands.
StarTech.com's Mini DisplayPort Adapters are currently available directly from StarTech.com, as well as from leading technology resellers including CDW, PC Connection, Provantage, Buy.com and Tiger Direct, and will also be distributed by Ingram Micro, Tech Data, D&H, SYNNEX and ASI Distribution.
