Sony Electronics has released two new projectors, the VPL-PHZ61 and the VPL-PHZ51, which are the world's smallest projectors in the WUXGA 3LCD category, according to a press release.

Both projectors feature bright-room optimizations along with a dust filter system and are compatible with 4K HD video via 4K60P input. Sony's Ambience system monitors room brightness and adjusts display settings accordingly. The VPL-PHZ61 is rated at 6,400 lumens (7,000 lumen center), while the the VPL-PHZ51 is rated at VPL-PHZ51 at 5,300 lumens (5,800 lumen center).

The filter material is designed to reduce filter maintenance requirements. The data cloning function can copy settings to subsequent projectors via USB device. With an eye to maintenance, the filter is designed to be easier for users to remove and a filter sensor tells users when a new filter is needed.
