Sony announces first full HD LCD screen for digital signage
December 2, 2007
LONDON — Sony has released its first full HD LCD screen for the digital signage market. The GXD-L52H1 has a 52-inch LCD display and native 1920-by-1080 resolution. The screen, designed for business use, can be mounted in either portrait or landscape position. A protective-glass screen means the display can be mounted at eye level in environments where an additional, expensive casing would normally be required. A heat-management system, eliminating the need for ventilation holes, makes the display dust-resistant and suitable for semi-outdoor environments. Sony's public display flagship model is aimed to customers in the retail, transportation, venue and digital-advertising industries. Other target applications include digital signage in shopping malls, exhibition centers, railway stations and airports, as well as corporate installations, boardrooms, reception areas, and medical and broadcast applications.
