Singapore DOOH network reaching 80% of population

March 8, 2011

According to The Straits Times, SPH MediaBoxOffice (SPHMBO) has expanded its in-mall digital advertising network to now reach more than 80 percent of Singapore.

With its latest additions, including shopping malls such as White Sands, Tiong Bahru Plaza and Hougang Mall, SPHMBO now has close to 200 screens in 23 malls islandwide.

Among the new screens in the network are a large video wall prominently positioned at the busy atrium of Tampines 1, and another facing shoppers heading toward the basement shop floor of Liang Court. The other screens are strategically located at lift lobbies and waiting areas of the malls.

AsiaMalls join a network that includes reputable malls such as Wisma Atria, Plaza Singapura, Bugis Junction, Tampines Mall and Novena Square. The 23 malls are represented geographically in all four corners of the island, with average monthly visitorship of half a million people in each mall.

According to Nielsen Media Research, 81 per cent, or about 3.1 million Singaporeans and permanent residents visited one of the shopping malls in SPHMBO's Retail Network in the past seven days.

"In a highly-populated and urbanized city like Singapore, shopping malls are like magnets attracting people from all walks of life throughout the day and night. The advertising Retail Network that we've built up in these prime malls offers advertisers a unique opportunity to reach youths, household decision-makers, and affluent consumers within a captive environment when they are most relaxed and receptive," SPHMBO General Manager Edward Tang said in the announcement.
