Signagelive powers Exterity's IPTV, inks disty deal
January 25, 2009
LONDON — Exterity, a specialist in network IPTV, announced that its recently launched IPTV Ready Program has successfully carried out testing with numerous digital signage and video equipment companies. One such company is Remote Media with its signagelive SaaS (Software as a Service) Web-based Digital Signage Platform. Exterity's IPTV Ready Program allows these companies to prove interoperability with IPTV, which opens up new revenue streams and generates improved margins, vital in today's challenging economic climate.
IPTV is rapidly growing in popularity and has become an essential requirement for new builds and renovations. As such, video equipment and digital signage companies are quickly moving to gain knowledge in the area of IPTV. Exterity meets this demand from a non-competitive position, and provides independent advice based on vast expertise to help other vendors integrate with IPTV solutions.
Digital signage and video equipment companies have the option to include Exterity's IPTV solution as part of their wider technology offerings, which will help them attract new customers as well as create an up-sell opportunity to existing customers, increasing customer satisfaction and long-term retention.
"Exterity's IPTV Ready Program acts as a ‘rubber stamp,' proving to our customers that we have a verified solution that will give them a best of breed digital signage system, which incorporates the flexibility of IPTV seamlessly integrated with both signagelive display and new desktop editions," said Jason Cremins, CEO, Remote Media.
Signagelive has also announced a deal with Midwich, a European A/V distributor, to add its SaaS digital signage portfolio to Midwich's line card.
"We are delighted to secure the distribution services of Midwich," Cremins said. "Our signagelive software is compatible with Samsung and NEC displays and Midwich is the leading distributor for both brands. By simply inserting the signagelive USBCard into a Samsung DXN display or any NEC 1.66Mhz Dual Core built-in PC, the software is automatically upgraded to signagelive and immediately connected to the signagelive Web-based server using a standard Internet connection."
Under the terms of the deal, signagelive will be distributed by Midwich and its sister companies, True Colours Distribution and Owl Visual Systems.
