Sharp NEC Display Solutions, a projector and digital display manufacturer, has released the NC1202L laser light source projector, an addition to its cinema projection series, according to a company press release.

Designed specifically for smaller screens at 7,000 lumens, the NC1202L is ideal for standard sized movie theatres or projection booths that require high-quality cinema projection, according to the release.

The built-in laser light source provides approximately 50,000 hours of expected usage. It also features high frame rate capability and 2K DCI-compliant cinema quality, bright enough to display 14 feet-L on screens up to 39.4 feet in DCI color. Additionally, it can play 3D content, which is growing in popularity for movies and media.

"The new NC1202L, an upgraded model from its previous generation, is the latest and greatest projector for the small screen market with exceptional picture quality and color rendition," Rich McPherson, senior product manager, Sharp NEC Display Solutions said in the release. "This digital cinema projector provides overall better picture quality in a completely self-contained dust proof system, without the need for external cooling and maintaining a quiet atmosphere. This projector creates the immersive experience that audiences are seeking when returning to the theater this summer."

The NC1202L projector includes dust protection with NEC's heat exchanger along with a sealed optical engine. With no exhaust system required, the projector is suitable for both floor and ceiling installation, versatile for both physical installation and content playback.
