Sharp merges with NEC

Sharp Corp and NEC Corp. have announced a joint venture as Sharp NEC Display Solutions. As part of the agreement, Sharp has acquired 66% of shares for NEC Display Solutions, according to a press release.

This new business will continue to focus on displays, and Fujikazu Nakayama, senior executive managing officer and business solutions BU president of Sharp, will serve as chairman of the business. Hisatsugu Nakatani, president of NEC Display Solutions will serve as president of SNDS.
