Sharp Imaging and Information Co. of America, a division of Sharp Electronics Corp., has launched its first professional-grade 70-inch-class (69.5-inch diagonal) 4K ultra-HD display. The new PN-H701 professional display offers 4K UHD resolution (3,840 x 2,160) to showcase detailed text and high-resolution content.

The 70-inch class display, with ultra-slim aluminum bezel, was designed and engineered for 24/7 operation in professional and commercial installations, the company said. Measuring just 9 mm (top/right/left), according to Sharp it is the "narrowest, thinnest and lightest display in its class," designed to allow for simple installation and maintenance. It also features both portrait and landscape formats, as well as up to 20-degree upward and downward tilt.

The Sharp PN-H701 comes equipped with built-in upscaling capability, allowing full-HD (1080p) signals to be upscaled to 4K UHD images. In addition, the PN-H701 features a built-in USB and internal memory media player, allowing playback of informational content without the need of a PC, the company said.

"While Sharp offers a wide-range of 4K ultra-HD televisions, the PN-H701 is our first professional-grade display," said Mike Marusic, SVP, Marketing and Business Solutions Group, Sharp Imaging and Information Co. of America, in the announcement. "This new model combines both 4K ultra-HD resolution and exclusive built-in features, making it as versatile a display as there is on the market and a trendsetter in its class."

The Sharp professional-grade 70-inch class 4K UHD display will be made widely available this month, the company said.
