September 17, 2007

EXTON, Pa. — Scala Inc., an end-to-end digital signage software provider, announced the appointment of Robert Koolen to the position of president, reporting directly to Scala's CEO, Gerard Bucas. Robert Koolen was appointed president after he conducted a four-month growth readiness assessment as an independent management consultant. As president, he will oversee and execute the company's growth strategy as well as, initially, assume direct operational responsibility for corporate marketing and U.S. operations. Mr. Koolen brings knowledge of global growth companies to Scala, having experienced and contributed to a number of high growth periods in operational and executive roles. He has lived in each of three continents for seven years or more. Prior to being a management consultant, Mr. Koolen was president and CEO of arcplan Inc., the American arm of global business software vendor arcplan, until the company was successfully sold. He also served on the arcplan Inc. board and was a member of arcplan's global Executive Team and had previously served as arcplan's vice president of marketing. "We are very excited that Robert has decided to join our team. He has already proven to be a major asset over the past few months and will play a major role in driving our growth strategy going forward," said Scala CEO Bucas.
