Scala adds Android-based digital signage from Instorescreen, Avnet

Scala Inc. recently introduced a new line of Android-based devices designed by Instorescreen and distributed by Avnet Embedded, with screen sizes ranging from 7 inches up to 65 inches. Each unit is built with a focus on dependability, the company said, modeled for commercial and retail environments.

Scala Inc. recently introduced a new line of Android-based devices designed by Instorescreen and distributed by Avnet Embedded, with screen sizes ranging from 7 inches up to 65 inches. Each unit is built with a focus on dependability, the company said, modeled for commercial and retail environments.

The new devices from Instorescreen and Avnet Embedded, a division of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, a business region of Avnet Inc., include some key features:

  • Flexible VESA mounting and open-frame mounting options
  • Durable hardened protective glass and industrial metal casing
  • Expandable network port including three USB ports, integrated Wi-Fi and 3G/4G options
  • Dual Core Cortex A9 ARM processors and Dual Core Mali full HD decoder

Each Android device is Scala certified for single and multiframe content, already integrated with Scala Player into its factory firmware for reliability and performance, the company said.

Instorescreen's devices can also be custom designed to meet specific needs, including customized enclosures and fixtures, special colors and logotypes as well as touchscreen preferences. All Android devices are distributed by Avnet Embedded and are available in more than 300 locations across 80 countries across the globe, complete with warranty and support, according to the announcement.
