LAS VEGAS — Samsung Electronics America, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corp., a manufacturer of professional LCD and PDP display products, has announced the availability of its largest and most powerful large format display, the SyncMaster 820DXn, designed for corporate and commercial digital signage applications. A selection of Samsung's large format display portfolio is on display at the 2008 Digital Signage Expo at in Las Vegas.
The SyncMaster 820DXn display is designed for high-usage digital signage applications, including airports, retail locations and other indoor venues. Featuring a new Digital Information Display panel designed to lower the temperature of the display, the SyncMaster 820DXn can support even the most rigorous commercial applications. By utilizing built-in fans to keep temperatures low, the DID panel ultimately extends the life of the 820DXn display.
Featuring a built-in computer, the 820DXn creates an all-in-one solution which allows users to drive content to the display without a separate machine. The computer features an AMD Athlon64 X2 3400+, 1.8 GHz dual core processor, 4 GB of flash storage memory, 512 MB DDR2 RAM, an ATI chipset and the Win XPe operating system.
Using Samsung's MagicNet Pro software, the 820DXn large format display enables users to control content across several displays using a single computer, eliminating the need for a dedicated PC for each display.
Featuring a 5000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, ultra-high brightness levels and 1920 x 1080 full HD resolution, the 82-inch display also incorporates a 178/178-degree viewing angle achieved via Samsung's Super Patterned Vertical Alignment. The 820DXn display also features the third-generation of Samsung's DNIe PRO image enhancement technology, providing natural colors, richer contrast and finer details.
