Samsung announces world's first 8K gaming monitor

Samsung has announced the world's first 8K ultrawide gaming monitor, the Odyssey Neo G9 49-inch UltraWide, according to a report in extremetech.com; MSRP has not yet been announced.

The resolution has a caveat that 8K is only available horizontally, giving a true resolution of 7680 x 2160, according to the report. This is in part due to current GPU chip limitations.

The monitor specs include 4K at 480Hz, 8K at 165Hz, and 1440p at 900Hz.
