Ryder, a truck rental service, is partnering with BrightSign Llc. and Creative Realities Inc. to deploy digital signage at 356 locations. BrightSign's media players displayed interactive content to educate customers about the rental vehicles and help them have a safe experience on the road, according to a press release.

CRI provided 48-inch PCAP Multi-Touch NEC displays and BrightSign provided its XD media players. The displays offer content such as tutorials on operating the lift gate and engine maintenance in Englihs, Spanish or French. The displays also feature RSS-fed content such as weather information and local news feeds.

"Providing this rich content enables Ryder to educate customers about safe vehicle operation when it matters most — at the point of rental," Joel Eigege, VP and global product manager for rental, Ryder, said in the release. "Customer education helps reduce the risk of accidents, which minimizes fleet downtime and provides for a satisfying, successful customer experience."

The displays also have Google analytics to allow Ryder to see which videos are watched the most, according to the release.
