Report: Micro display market to reach $1.7 billion by 2023

The micro display market is forecasted to grow from $812 million in 2017 to $1.7 billion by 2023, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 13.2 percent from 2017 to 2023, according to a report by MarketsandMarkets.

The rising adoption of head-mounted displays and heads-up-displays are currently driving the market, as well as an increasing number of micro display applications. Some of these applications include AR glasses for training in the industrial sector. Also, many cars are beginning to integrate HUDs.

Another key technology driving growth is OLED, which provides better power efficiency, colorfulness and contrast.

North America is expected to hold the largest market share during the forecasted period, according to the report.
