Reno airport installs digital signage

April 30, 2007

RENO, Nev. — Image Base International (IBI) recently replaced the Grand Sierra Resort's static billboards over the B and C concourse escalators in the Reno/Tahoe International Airport with three 65-inch plasma displays.

"Grand Sierra Resort, and their advertising agency, DRGM, came to us looking for a way to improve impressions, better target messages and allow more rapid updating of content," said Catherine Oaks, president and co-founder of IBI. "I-Screen was the ideal solution."

IBI created a complete turnkey package for GSR that includes three 65-inch plasma screens controlled by an onsite PC running I-Screen software. The three screens can show the same message, separate messages or any combination. IBI also worked with the GSR to develop content design and programming of the screens. The system is now fully operational, and provides streaming content 24/7 with images and videos changing approximately every eight seconds. Content is updated remotely by GSR staff on a real-time basis.

IBI has also completed two additional digital signing projects with the GSR. In January IBI installed digital signs in the hotel lobby providing real-time Reno/Tahoe airport flight arrival and departure information. The feed taken directly from the airport Web site is then reformatted to match the GSR brand design and color scheme. And, this week IBI launched three 50-inch digital signs on the first floor promoting Grand Sierra Resort Condominiums.
