Reflex eWriter digital signage LCDs available for OEM applications

April 3, 2013

The Reflex eWriter LCD can now be integrated into third-party products, according to an announcement from Kent Displays.

Kent Displays, which makes the LCDs that form the writing surface for Boogie Board LCD eWriters, said in a news release that the LCDs are now available as an original equipment manufacturer, or OEM, component for products and devices, including consumer electronics, toys, appliances, furniture, vehicle dashboards and visors and fashion apparel and accessories.

Boogie Boards provide a paperless, reusable writing surface in lieu of memo pads and other writing media.

The eWriter LCDs come with or without memory. The advanced architecture includes a digitizer to capture written and drawn images that can be saved to memory and transferred to a computer, which allows its use as a note, composition or sketch book. The LCDs come in three standard rectangular sizes (4.5 8.5 or 10.5 inches), and custom shapes and sizes are also available.
