Reflect Systems spins off webcast, VOD platform

May 1, 2007

DALLAS — Reflect Systems Inc., a provider of media tools for digital signage and corporate communications, announced that it would spin-off its ReflectWeb webcast services platform to VariView Technology LLC, a new Dallas-based startup. The ReflectWeb services platform is currently used by dozens of large corporate customers, video production companies, IR and PR firms, and interactive agencies to provide live and on-demand video webcasting and streaming services for Internet viewers globally.

The ReflectWeb services platform was created by Reflect Systems founders in 2003 to take advantage of the resurgence in global demand for live, and on-demand, webcasting of corporate announcements, training and marketing events. The platform complemented the ReflectNet enterprise video distribution software that was already being sold for internal use into Fortune 500 companies.

"This transaction allows us to continue to focus on building our core software systems for digital signage and enterprise video distribution," said Stan Woodward, chairman and chief executive officer of Reflect Systems. "ReflectWeb has been extremely successful and the new owners will be able to build on that success and address the unique needs of Internet viewers."

"VariView Technology is excited about taking this platform to the next level," said VariView CEO John McDonald. "The popularity of consumer video sharing sites such as YouTube, ManiaTV and GoFish heighten the demand for a higher quality experience from corporate webcasters. Embedding video in corporate Web sites and holding live webinars are now standard fare but Internet viewers will continue to expect better quality and ease-of-use and 100 percent reliability and that will be our focus moving forward."
