PumpTop TV, a nationwide digital video network located at the pump in over 700 gas stations across the country, is now serving up what it calls "drive thru voting" via interactive polls at the pump. "SPEAK UP" is an "interactive, grass roots polling system," according to a press release, that will reach millions of people each week. Results from the polls will be displayed on the network, and posted to the company web site.
"While we are officially announcing "SPEAK UP" today, we have been beta testing for a few weeks," said Doug Woo, executive vice president of AdtekMedia, the parent company of PumpTop TV. "The reaction has been overwhelming. People love to read our polling questions while they pump gas and then file their votes immediately on their wireless devices or when they access their home computers. In either case, they love to vote and then find out the results a week later. Polls create an enjoyable experience for the consumer, which ultimately leads to loyalty to the PumpTop TV network and the station that runs the network."
