Pro Display showcases jet engines

Pro Display recently teamed up with Ouno Creative to offer its 65-inch multi-touch LCD screen to GKN Aerospace. GKN Aerospace used the LCD screen to show off its new jet engine products, according to a press release.

Ouno creative had a large model of a jet engine and placed the transparent touch screen between the viewers and the model. This created a holographic effect. The transparent LCD screen blocks light with black pixels and the white pixels are transparent. With this effect, GKN Aerospace could hide details of the jet engine until it was ready, according to the release.

Pro Display integrated its infrared multi-touch frame with the display to create six touch points and a quick response to the user's touch.

"Transparent displays are fast becoming a favorite with our customers. Transparent LCD screens combine perfectly with our infrared touch frames, creating the solution that Ouno delivered for GKN," Ben Kershaw, sales manager for Pro Display, said in the release. "We've also added transparent OLED displays to our range, joining our transparent LCD and rear projection screens, and all these have interactive multi-touch options."
